Notes from the Office

Highland would like to announce the hiring of Linda Winkle as our new Director of Children's Ministries. She began her new post January 1. We are excited about our new addition to the staff. Please take some time introduce yourself and make her feel welcome.

We have begun our Wednesday Evening Ministries in earnest. Come and join us for a fellowship meal at 5:30 p.m. followed by small groups for the whole family.

The Frankfort Ministerial Association would like to invite all to the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Service at the First Corinthian Baptist Church, located on Second and Murray. It will be held January 20 at 7:00 p.m.

Guest preacher at the service will be Rev. Brandon McCormack. Born in Danville, Brandon lived in Frankfort from late elementary school through high school and is a graduate of Western Hills High School. He received a B.S. in Business Economics from the University of Louisville and an M. Div. from Louisville’s Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2005. He and his wife Shashray and their two children currently live in Nashville, where he is a doctoral student.

Part of the special music at the service will feature Kendall Isaiah Washington, a ten-year-old musical prodigy from Paducah. Kendall released his first CD single, "Why it’s Christmas," last December; and he has performed at the historic Apollo Theater in New York City.
